西洋菜雖名曰『西洋』，卻是香港本地農產名物之一。自1958年引入川龍，它逐漸成爲當地村民家家戶戶種植而以求生存的命門。由於用以灌溉的山水水質優良，因此這裏出產的西洋菜非常著名。
