Event Details

The Traditional Salted Pork Zongzi Making Class is a hands-on workshop filled with authentic cultural warmth. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, participants will learn every classic step—from soaking rice and preparing savory salted pork filling to wrapping with bamboo leaves and tying the dumplings. You will make genuine Hong Kong and Cantonese-style salted pork zongzi from scratch. The class not only teaches practical skills but also lets you experience the festive spirit of the Dragon Boat Festival and the joy of passing down family traditions. Perfect for beginners and anyone who loves traditional Chinese cuisine.

The Highlight of this workshop

Because we invited experienced teachers Sammy and Vien.
Mr. Sammy has been leading culinary courses for many years. In addition to his excellent cooking skills, he is also an internationally registered dietitian who incorporates nutritional knowledge when teaching cooking. Teacher Vien is a senior Scout leader who has been teaching Scout members Bao Tong for more than 10 years.

Not only do they have skillful dumpling-making skills, they ensure that every participant can make a perfect salted meat dumpling with their own hands. 

In this workshop, you will experience the joy of making dumplings, from soaking glutinous rice, picking salted meat to wrapping rice dumpling leaves, every step requires care and patience.
During the process, you can also engage with instructors and other participants .
Feel the warmth and interaction between everyone.
In addition, the salted meat dumplings can be taken home and steamed to share with your family to add a unique flavor to your table.
The instructor will also make it in advance for an impromptu tasting.
