Note:
As for the potted plants of ornamental flowers and edible flowers, most of them need the cooperation of temperature, sunlight and fertilizer. Reproduction method
The main method is sowing, and the optimum temperature for germination is 20℃. It likes light and germinates in about 5 days. It can be sown directly in the open field, or seedlings can be raised first, and transplanted when there are 7-8 leaves. It takes about 3-4 months from sowing to flowering.
Cultivation method
Straw chrysanthemum is semi-cold-resistant and strong. The optimum temperature for growth is 12-25℃. It likes sunshine and good drainage. Sandy loam is the most suitable soil for cultivation. September to October is the sowing period. The seeds like light and do not need to be covered with soil. They can be transplanted when there are 7-8 leaves. Organic fertilizer or compound fertilizer is pre-mixed in the cultivation soil as base fertilizer. Straw chrysanthemum has strong fertilizer absorption ability. Flower fertilizer can be applied once every 2 weeks during the growth period. During the flowering period, too much nitrogen fertilizer is not needed to avoid the problem of high growth and lodging. After transplanting, pinch the topspinning, which can be done 2-3 times to promote branching.
Morphological characteristics
The English name of strawflower is "strawflower", which is a perennial herb. It is cultivated as an annual plant in Taiwan. The plant height can reach more than 1 meter. The leaves are alternate, gray-green and slightly sticky, and the stems are upright and thick. The ligulate flowers of the flowers are multi-layered bracts surrounding the head inflorescence. They are dry, waxy, shiny, and feel like paper dried flowers. After the tubular flowers in the center of the flowers wither, their waxy bracts remain in their original state. It is a very good dried flower material, so it is called "immortelle, everlasting flower". Even after harvesting, it will open and close with the humidity of the air.
