🛍 Product Information:
It has a light or white rind dotted with irregular dark green spots or streaks that resemble a meteor shower. The flesh is usually white, thin-skinned, juicy and soft with a delicate, melt-in-the-mouth texture. It offers a refreshing, high sweetness that is clean rather than cloying, often compared to jelly or soft ice cream.
Origin: Meteor melon originated in Japan and is a high-quality melon variety introduced from Japan. Currently, its main production area in China is Guazhou County, Gansu Province (especially Guangzhi Tibetan Township), where it is primarily grown in greenhouses and steel-framed sheds. Due to the long hours of sunshine and large temperature differences between day and night in the area, the melons produced there have high sugar content and excellent taste. It is also grown in Sanya, Hainan, and other places (often called Meteor Moon Dew Melon or Moon Dew Melon).
Season: Due to the widespread use of greenhouse facilities and staggered cropping, the supply period is relatively long. In Guazhou production areas, the melons generally begin to appear on the market from the end of April (late spring), reaching peak production in June. The autumn crop can continue until around October, aiming for a longer period or even year-round supply. In southern production areas (such as Hainan), the market start earlier or at staggered times.
