The purpose of
Lantau Culture Workshop is to inherit the spirit of Tai O Cultural Studio, learn about local life on the island, advocate understanding the environment, ecology, history, culture, and recycle and use local materials.
"Lantau Village Nature School" is now enrolling
At the Lantau Village Nature School, you will be able to see the growth of fruits or vegetables, and discover different lives and life possibilities; you will also meet farmers, Lantau residents, community animals, etc. If you see different rural environments, people and things in Hong Kong, maybe you will slowly see a different version of yourself in them.

Have more experiences in the sea and understand the changes in life in the sea; understand the relationship between Chinese white dolphins on the southwestern coast of Lantau, horseshoe crabs in the wetlands, birds and other life and the environment; have more opportunities to use your hands to touch the creation of trees and soil; recycle by yourself Trees, feel the texture of trees with your own hands;
Discover the persistence of local farmers in making good use of the land; think about the value of local agriculture, social value and the price difference of agricultural products; try to eat fresh local dishes; listen to the food stories of Lantau people in different eras. At the same time, you also have to face different weather changes, outdoor mosquitoes, snakes, insects, rats, ants, etc. There are many difficulties, don’t be afraid, we will learn to face them together. 1. The 3rd Green Wood Workshop 03 Green Wood Working (First Issue)
Understand trees/resource recycling/use local materials/understand personal growth in rural areas/possibility of community participation in woodcrafting

Time: 10 am to 4 pm
Charge: $1500 (includes simple lunch, 2 to 3 pounds of local Lantau produce)
Number of people: 8 (interview required)
Content: Introduction and use of woodcraft tools, making personal wooden tableware, woodworking and farmland, making fire for cooking in the wild, making carrot cake, two days and one night (camping), organizing event days, etc.
2. Happy Farming in Lantau (Phase 1)
July 2024 to March 2025 (two phases in total)
Local farmers/make good use of the land/think about the value of local agriculture/eat fresh local food
Dates: August 1, August 24, September 7, September 21, October 13, October 20
(July 20) *Shiu Hau Ecological Activities
Time: 10 am to 4 pm
Charge: $1500 (includes simple lunch, 3 to 4 pounds of local Lantau produce)
Number of people: 6 - 8 (interview required)
Contents: Picking pineapples, planting soil and environment, opening fields, making biochar, pastoral and household compost, planting records, agricultural labor experience, Lantau farm visit or guided tour, cooking by fire in the wild, making carrot cake, two days Overnight (camping), event planning days, etc.
3. The 4th "Lantau Canoe Marine Patrol" 04
Ecological knowledge experience and learning/Education and promotion of environmental protection/Marine garbage beach cleaning/Canoeing around Lantau
Period: July 2024 to June 2025
Number of people: 8 (must participate in canoe experience and interview)
Contents: Canoeing training (minimum 10 times), mountaineering camping, two-day and one-night camping on Lantau, understanding marine development and the general situation of Hong Kong waters, marine garbage and ecology, beach cleaning, bird watching at Shui Hau, rice farming and ecology, and making fires in the wild Cooking, making carrot cake, etc.
