🌱 About the Producer / Supplier:
Why don’t organic farmers apply for certification? When the non-certified producers on our platform who use organic fertilizers and organic pesticides and pay attention to soil quality management and fertilizers sell, we often trust the "people" themselves, for example, through on-site inspections and regular inspections between us. Updates on farming conditions actually make consumers more confident.
Compared with large and medium-sized farms that have already applied for certification, they generally lack human resources. Organic certification does have a great effect on some consumers and farms. However, certified organic vegetables and non-certified organic vegetables are two different things. Different markets serve different customers and even prices vary.

🛍 Product Information:
Binomial Name:Citrus × tangelo
Chinese Name:桔柚
Other Names:Tangelo
Product Description:Tangelo is a new hybrid citrus variety bred by Japanese breeders using Ueda Wenzhou Mikan as the female parent and Bashuo as the male parent. It is a hybrid of orange and pomelo. Tangerine has the excellent traits of both orange and pomelo.
The orange pomelo fruit is oblate in shape and has orange-yellow peel. The fruit surface is rough and difficult to peel. The fruit has no or few seeds, golden yellow flesh, soft flesh, fresh and delicious flesh, juicy and scummy, fresh and tender flesh, and good taste.
The peel is orange-yellow, with a soluble solids content of more than 12%. It is soft, juicy, sweet, clear in taste, has no sour taste, and has the aroma of orange and pomelo. The edible quality of the fruit is similar regardless of size.
Variety:Jianyang orange pomelo, Qingyuan sweet orange pomelo, Nova orange pomelo, common varieties also include Orlando orange pomelo, Minnie orange pomelo, Nova orange pomelo, Jamaica ugly orange pomelo, etc.
Supply Season:The main collection period is from the end of November to early December, and the listing time is around the winter solstice until the end of February.
Storage Method:To keep them fresh, store them in a cool and dry place or refrigerator.
#Should Be / Avoided:
Sweet orange pomelo is rich in protein, organic acids, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium and other essential elements for the human body, which is unmatched by other fruits. Pomelo meat is also rich in vitamin C and insulin-like ingredients, which have the effects of lowering blood sugar, lowering blood lipids, losing weight, and beautifying the skin. Regular consumption has an auxiliary therapeutic effect on diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and vascular sclerosis, and has the function of keeping healthy and beautiful for obese people. In addition, grapefruit contains the physiologically active substance dermaside, which can reduce blood viscosity and reduce the formation of thrombus, so it also has a preventive effect on cerebrovascular diseases.
*Edible Compatibility:
One study to date suggests that, unlike grapefruit, tangerine is less likely to interact with statins. Although tangelo is derived from a cross between pomelo and mandarin orange, the furanocoumarins in pomelo are not expressed in tangelo. [11]
Cooking Skills:Its meat is tender, broken down, juicy, and its flavor combines the fragrance of grapefruit and the sweetness of orange. It is refreshing and not greasy after eating more. It is a famous fruit with a very unique taste.
Notes:It is not advisable to eat before meals or on an empty stomach, otherwise the organic acids contained in oranges will irritate the gastric mucosa, which is not good for the stomach.
Hesperidin (Hesperidin) in the peel and nerol (Nerol) extracted from the flower are both available for medicinal purposes. Many orange juices commonly sold in Hong Kong are made from concentrated orange pulp exported from Brazil, not freshly squeezed locally.
