Malathion is an organophosphate insecticide widely used in agriculture, horticulture, and public health for mosquito control. It works by interfering with the insect's nervous system. While relatively biodegradable, it remains toxic to humans and pets and should be used with caution.

Key Features and Uses

Applications: Primarily used to control aphids, scale insects, and spider mites on plants, as well as mosquitoes (larvae), fleas, and ticks in the environment.

Environmental Characteristics: Although it decomposes rapidly in outdoor soil and does not easily pollute groundwater, it is highly toxic to aquatic organisms (such as fish and bees).

Safety and Precautions

Human Toxicity: Excessive contact or inhalation may cause symptoms of organophosphate poisoning such as nausea, dizziness, and difficulty breathing.

Protection Measures: Always wear a mask and gloves when preparing and spraying. Avoid direct skin contact or inhalation of droplets.

Storage Safety: As it is a toxic pesticide, always store in a cool, dark place out of reach of children and pets. Marathon is highly volatile and has low toxicity to humans and animals. Its toxicity will be reduced immediately if it is placed in a ventilated place. It will be dispersed into the environment when Marathon pesticides are manufactured and used in large quantities. If it lands on the soil during the spraying process, Marathon will combine with the soil and will be quickly hydrolyzed, and will not pollute groundwater sources.

Tips for using pesticides

Use pesticides correctly and safely;
Keep away from children;
Avoid pesticides from contacting skin, eyes and clothes. If they accidentally splash into eyes or get on clothes, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If the pain persists, seek medical attention immediately;
Avoid using the same pesticide for a long time, which may cause pests to develop resistance;
Pay attention to the time of application, and avoid spraying pesticides at noon or when the sun is strong; (Spraying pesticides in a humid and hot environment may cause crop burns)
Avoid excessive spraying of pesticides, and decide whether to use pesticides according to the field conditions; (Excessive use of pesticides may affect the field ecology or cause pests to develop resistance)
Before using pesticides, carefully read the instructions listed on the pesticides, such as dosage and concentration;
When preparing and applying pesticides, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as work clothes, rubber gloves, rubber boots, masks, goggles, etc.;
