Introduction

Madagascar jasmine is an evergreen woody vine native to Madagascar. Climbing and growing with winding stems, the vines can reach more than 5m in length. Opposite leathery oval leaves, 6-12cm long and 3-6cm wide. 5~10 flowers gather into umbels, open in leaf axils, waxy and shiny flowers, white and pure, with elegant fragrance, flower diameter 1.5~2.5cm, flowering period from spring to autumn. The follicles are oval in shape, similar to mangoes, and crack when ripe, exposing the seeds with white awn hairs.

cultivation

Suitable for full sun environment, likes well-drained, organic-rich medium. Thick and hard leaves are more tolerant of drought and drought, but normal water supply is still required during the growth period to avoid bud drop; dormancy during the low temperature period in winter can reduce the frequency of watering. Apply a long-acting organic fertilizer once a season from spring to autumn. Propagation by seed and cuttings.
