🛍 Product Information:

Hakka Traditional Pork Pot (Kejia Zhū Ròu Bō / Hakka Pork Bowl) is a classic Hakka dish featuring pork belly steamed in a small earthenware or ceramic bowl (pot).

The dish is made with thick-cut pork belly marinated with fermented black beans (douchi), dried tangerine peel, garlic, salt, and sometimes Shaoxing wine or other spices. It is then packed tightly into a bowl and steamed for a long time, often repeatedly. This slow-cooking method renders the fat gently, resulting in melt-in-your-mouth tender and succulent meat that is rich, savory, aromatic, and not overly greasy.

Historically, Hakka women would prepare these pork pots before Lunar New Year and send them with their married daughters back to their natal homes as a gesture of filial piety and to show that the daughter’s family was living prosperously with plenty of meat. It is not just a dish but a symbol of Hakka heritage, family bonds, and festive abundance.
