Product Description:In Vietnamese cuisine, Vietnamese coriander is often used as a lettuce salad or added to spring rolls. Vietnamese coriander is also added when cooking beef pho to add color and flavor. When eating duck eggs, Vietnamese coriander is often added. Traditionally, in Vietnam, this herb is believed to suppress sexual urges. There is a saying in various states of Vietnam "rau răm, giá sống" ("Vietnamese coriander, raw bean sprouts"), referring to the common belief that Vietnamese coriander reduces sexual desire, while bean sprouts have the opposite effect. Many Buddhist monks grow cilantro in their private gardens and eat it regularly, believing it helps them maintain celibacy.



In Singapore and Malaysia, chopped Vietnamese coriander is used to make a spicy soup base called laksa. This soup base uses Vietnamese coriander as the main ingredient, so Vietnamese coriander is called laksa leaves locally.

Australia is using Vietnamese coriander as raw material to extract an essential oil called "kesom oil".

Medicinal

According to Vietnamese experts, Vietnamese coriander is bitter, pungent, non-toxic, and can detoxify and reduce swelling. They believe that Vietnamese coriander can be used to treat swelling, acne, indigestion, flatulence and stomach pain.

In many Vietnamese herbal therapies, Vietnamese coriander is used to suppress sexual desire. There is a saying in Vietnam that "Vietnamese coriander, bean sprouts" means that Vietnamese coriander has the ability to reduce fertility, while bean sprouts have the opposite effect. There is also another saying that "Vietnamese coriander can eliminate sexual desire."

Cooking Skills:Laksa is a spicy noodle dish popular in Southeast Asia. Laksa consists of a variety of noodles, most commonly thick rice noodles, served with toppings such as chicken, shrimp or fish. Most laksas are made with a rich and spicy coconut soup or a broth flavored with sour assam.

Nasi kerabu is a Malaysian rice dish, a type of nasi ulam, in which blue rice is served with dried fish or fried chicken, crackers, pickles, and other salads. The blue color of rice comes from the petals of the butterfly pea flower (bunga telang), which is used as a natural food coloring in cooking. Rice can also be plain white rice or rice cooked with turmeric. It is usually served with solok lada and also with fried keropok.
