The "Lai Chi Wo Nature Management Agreement" project jointly conducted by the Hong Kong Rural Areas Fund and The Conservancy Association is funded by the "Rural Conservation Funding Scheme" under the "Rural Conservation Office". The project team cooperates with Lai Chi Wo villagers, new residents and farmers to maintain the biodiversity and habitat of Lai Chi Wo using nature-friendly farming methods. Daily operations are based on organic farming, and the use of genetically modified crops, chemical fertilisers or chemical pesticides is prohibited.
OM! Really Beautiful Lychee - Lai Chi Wo Ecological and Cultural Photography Competition
Lai Chi Wo is located in a small bay in the northeastern New Territories, a traditional Hakka village with a history of nearly 400 years. Lai Chi Wo is a small rural area with a rich and diverse ecological environment, including feng shui forests, freshwater streams, villages, farmland, mangroves, mudflats and swamps, nurturing many lives.
In order to achieve the harmonious coexistence of farming, rural life and nature, the "@Lai Chi Wo Nature Management Agreement" project co-operated by the @Hong Kong Countryside Fund and @长春社, is to use agricultural land habitat management to make the natural environment of Lai Chi Wo and Traditional rural life achieves sustainable integration. The rural restoration work carried out by the project in the past ten years has also made it a model of rural conservation, attracting many people.
This photography competition organized in conjunction with @OM SYSTEM hopes to make the public understand the natural ecology, history and culture of Lai Chi Wo through photography, and to use the lens to record the unique scenery of Lai Chi Wo!
Competition date: May 11, 2024 to June 30, 2024
Photography theme: Integration of nature and rural areas
Deadline for submission of works: 23:59 on June 30, 2024
Photography equipment: no limit, except for drone system photography (commonly known as: aerial photography)
Maximum number of works submitted: Each contestant can submit up to 3 works
Eligibility: 18 years or above

Runner-up (1 place): PEN E-P7 body (white) with M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ electric zoom lens set

OM! 真美荔 - 荔枝窩生態文化攝影比賽
荔枝窩位於新界東北嘅一個小海灣，一條有近四百多年歷史嘅傳統客家村落。荔枝窩喱個小小嘅鄉郊地帶，擁有豐富多樣性嘅生態環境，包括風水林、淡水溪流、村落、農地、紅樹林、泥灘及沼澤，孕育眾多生命。
為咗實現農耕和鄉郊生活與自然嘅和諧共存 @香港鄉郊基金 與 @長春社合作嘅「@荔枝窩自然管理協議」項目，就係透過農地生境管理，讓荔枝窩嘅自然環境和傳統農村生活實現永續共融。項目近十年嚟嘅鄉村復育工作亦令呢到成為鄉郊保育嘅範例，吸引到唔少人慕名而來。
今次聯乘 @OM SYSTEM 舉辦嘅攝影比賽，希望透過攝影令大眾認識荔枝窩嘅自然生態及歷史文化，並且用鏡頭記錄荔枝窩嘅獨特景色!
