Farm-oriented, ecological conservation, sustainable countryside! We Farm for conservation!

The "Lai Chi Wo Nature Management Agreement" project jointly conducted by the Hong Kong Rural Areas Fund and The Conservancy Association is funded by the "Rural Conservation Funding Scheme" under the "Rural Conservation Office". The project team cooperates with Lai Chi Wo villagers, new residents and farmers to maintain the biodiversity and habitat of Lai Chi Wo using nature-friendly farming methods. Daily operations are based on organic farming, and the use of genetically modified crops, chemical fertilizers or chemical pesticides is prohibited.

Event Details

A series of eco-friendly farming activities and related workshops. It’s suitable for both adults and children to enjoy nature, taste local food, and spend happy time together in the fields!

The content of this event is rich and colorful. With the theme of "rice", we will bring you two exciting rice-related experience workshops:

🌾Tea Cake Making Workshop🌾

Content: Traditional Hakka tea cakes will be taught by the aboriginal residents of Lai Chi Wo to understand the relationship between tea cake production and the rice fields and natural environment of Lai Chi Wo.

🌾Lai Chi Wo Rice Pancake Creation Workshop🌾

Content: Use lychee rice to grind into powder instead of flour to make hot pancakes. Participants can taste the new hot pancakes that are delicious, low in calories, oil and gluten-free. At the same time, you can use hot biscuits to create different patterns to increase your appetite.

Cost:

Single price (same price for both sizes) $350
The fee includes tickets including 1./round-trip boat ticket (Lai Chi Wo <> Ma Liu Shui), 2./one pre-registered workshop, 3./various local activities, 4./one local drink coupon, 5. /A local snack coupon, 6./Activity insurance.
Tickets do not include lunch. Participants can bring their own lunch, or visit restaurants or shops run by villagers.
Children aged 12 or above can participate if accompanied by an adult. Same price as size. Each attendee must have purchased a ticket, children under two years old are free.


Remark:

  1. This event is pay first, first come first served. Those who sign up without paying may lose their spot. If you have paid but wish to fail to attend, no refund will be given unless there are special circumstances.
  2. Event tickets and ferry tickets will be collected at Ma Liu Shui Pier on the day. Staff will set up a booth near landing No. 3 of Ma Liu Shui Pier from 08:15 to 08:50 on the same day for participants to redeem. We will not wait for latecomers. (**Lei Chi Wo can only be entered by water or hiking)
  3. The ferry service between Lai Chi Wo and Ma Liu Shui is a public ferry. The departure time is 09:00 and the return time is 15:20. There is only one ferry per day. Participants must arrive at the pier on time.
  4. If canceled due to bad weather (two hours before the start of the event, the yellow, red or black rainstorm warning signal / strong wind signal No. 1 or above is still in effect) or other force majeure factors, the ticket payment will be deducted from the HKD 20 handling fee. The flying platform will be returned to the participant.
  5. If the organizer determines that the weather is no longer suitable to continue during the event, the organizer will immediately stop all outdoor activities and ticket fees will not be refunded.
  6. Participants accept that the organizer takes or records photos and videos containing the participant's portrait or voice during the workshop, and authorizes the organizer to have the rights and permission to use the above content for free for legal purposes.
  7. Participants cannot apply for refunds or change of workshops and time slots due to personal reasons. If there are changes due to insufficient number of participants, the organizer will notify you before June 27. Participants must reply to confirm within 24 hours after the notice is issued, otherwise the organizer will Will be randomly assigned to other activities on the day.
  8. In case of dispute, the organizer reserves the right to make the final decision.
