Seedling management

Keep the soil moist:

Kale likes moist soil, so after the kale emerges, we should spray water frequently to keep the kale potting soil moist for a long time, but don't have stagnant water, so that the kale will grow faster.

Intercropping Kale:

We can thin the kale when it grows to about 2 cm. When thinning the kale, we can follow the principle of "remove the weak and keep the strong".
When the kale grows to 5 to 6 cm, the kale can be transplanted into pots.

Transplanting method:

We can water the kale thoroughly in the morning, and then transplant it in the evening, so that the watered kale will not break the roots when pulling out the seedlings.
Add loose, breathable, fertile, neutral sandy loam soil to the flowerpot. Generally, we can mix peat soil, perlite, and decomposed manure and use it at a ratio of 4:6:1. This is because the kale takes a long time to harvest and requires a lot of fertilizer. After adding the soil to 2/3 of the pot, you can transplant the kale.
Kale is easy to transplant to survive, so we can transplant without soil balls. Remove 2 leaves from the plucked kale with good roots to make it easier for us to transplant. In addition, the colorful feather coats that will grow later can be more prominent, and the ornamentation can be enhanced.
Put the kale in the middle of the flowerpot, let the root system naturally stretch, then hold the kale seedlings with one hand, and fill the inside with the other hand. After the kale is buried, gently compact and pour thoroughly, then place it in a cool place to slow down the seedlings. After the kale starts to grow, it can be moved to the sun for normal maintenance.

Pay attention to fertilization after harvesting:

Fertilization: We can fertilize the kale during the growing season, usually every 10 days. In order to promote the growth of kale, we can apply a thin nitrogen fertilizer to the kale, which can make the kale grow faster.

Light: Kale is a long-day plant that likes sunlight, but when it is young, it can be properly shaded when it is high in summer.

Pruning: In order to grow the kale with multiple flower heads, we can remove the top of the kale, and then leave 3-5 shoots in different parts of the kale, so that one kale can have multiple flower heads. The flowers will be more beautiful and beautiful.

Temperature: Kale likes a cold and mild climate, so it has strong cold tolerance. Kale can withstand dozens of frosts without wilting, but it can't always grow in this cold temperature, otherwise it will not grow well.
