Product Description：Zespri (English: Zespri International Limited) is the world's largest kiwifruit seller. How does the kiwi fruit turn from green to gold?
In the 1990s, Zespri began breeding a new variety of kiwifruit, developed through our natural breeding program and operated in partnership with New Zealand Plants and Foods. This new yellow-fleshed golden variety is less furry than the green variety and has a sweeter, more tropical flavor.
Kiwi growers are hard at work learning how to grow this new variety of golden kiwi. By the turn of the century, growers were exporting Zespri® Gold kiwifruit around the world. In 2010, kiwifruit growers were confronted with a bacterial vine disease, Pseudomonas syringae kiwifruit venereal disease (Psa). By July 2012, nearly half of New Zealand's kiwi orchards had been lost to Psa infection. Gold kiwifruit are particularly susceptible to Psa bacteria, with vines severely affected. But because Zespri™ has never ceased our commitment to innovation, we already have a new golden variety of kiwifruit in our natural breeding program that has been in development for over 10 years. When we promoted this new golden variety among Zespri growers, the vines thrived, proving its Psa tolerance. Even better, this new golden variety tastes amazing, with a more balanced sweet tropical taste than the original golden variety - plus smoother skin!

🍎 Preserve fruits
