🛍  Product Information : 

European Type Basil, commonly known as Sweet Basil or Genovese Basil (Ocimum basilicum), is the classic variety prized in Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. It features broad, smooth, oval-to-spoon-shaped bright green leaves with a soft texture and a refined, sweet aroma. The scent is elegant and balanced—fresh with subtle notes of clove, light citrus, and a gentle floral sweetness—far milder and less pungent than Asian varieties.

This basil is the essential ingredient for authentic pesto, Caprese salad, tomato-based sauces, pasta, pizza, and fresh garnishes. Rich in vitamin K, vitamin A (as beta-carotene), vitamin C, folate, calcium, iron, and antioxidants, fresh European basil also offers mild digestive and aromatic benefits. Store short-term in the refrigerator (stems in water, covered loosely) or freeze for longer use. Ideal for Western-style cooking, home gardening, and premium culinary applications.

The word "basil" comes from the Greek word "βασιλευς," meaning "king," and is believed to have grown above the site where the sacred cross was discovered by Constantine the Great and Saint Helena.
