🛍 Product Information:
Binomial Name:-
Chinese Name:椰青水
Other Names:Coconut Water
Product Description:Coconut water (also called coconut sap) is the clear liquid inside young coconuts (the fruit of the coconut tree). In early development, it acts as a suspension for coconut endosperm during the nuclear development stage. As growth continues, the endosperm matures into the cellular stage and is deposited into the outer skin of the coconut pulp. The liquid within a young coconut is sometimes preferred to that of a mature coconut. Coconut water from young green coconuts is also known as buko juice in Filipino English.
A glass of coconut water contains more electrolytes than a regular sports drink and more potassium than a banana.
Sold everywhere. In Asia, the green husk of coconuts is removed and the insides are sold wrapped in plastic wrap.
Variety:The flavor also varies depending on where the coconut is harvested. For example, coconuts from India are sweet, coconuts from Brazil are mild, and coconuts from Bangladesh are slightly salty and very sweet due to the soil.
Supply Season:Hong Kong is supplied throughout the year.
Storage Method:
#Should Be / Avoided:
In particular, drinking too much coconut water (several liters) can lead to high levels of potassium in the blood (hyperkalemia), which can lead to kidney failure, irregular heartbeats, loss of consciousness, and possibly death. A 100 ml dose corresponds to only 2% to 7% of the recommended daily dose of potassium.
*Edible Compatibility:
There are no literature reports.
Cooking Skills:No description
Notes:One potential (but apparently quite rare) health risk from excessive consumption of coconut water is excess potassium in the blood (hyperkalemia), leading to acute kidney failure, cardiac arrhythmias, loss of consciousness, and ultimately death. This effect is extremely rare considering that 2.37 deciliters of commercially available coconut water contains only 10% of the recommended daily dose of potassium.
