🌞 Light: Partial shade to diffused light (3–5 hours daily), shade-tolerant but dislikes direct sunlight

Longli Leaf, aka Dragon's Tongue Leaf, Sauropus Leaf, is an evergreen shrub in the Phyllanthaceae family, scientific name Sauropus rostratus Miq. Up to 40 cm tall; stems twiggy with fine hairs; leaves opposite, ovate-lanceolate, 5–8 cm long, 2.5–3.5 cm wide, dark green and fleshy. Red or purple flowers bloom Feb–Oct.
Native to southern China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian), thrives in moist forests. Leaves medicinal: neutral, sweet-mild; enters lung & stomach meridians. Clears heat from lungs, resolves phlegm, relieves cough, moistens intestines. Treats lung heat cough, asthma, dry mouth, constipation, sore throat. Dosage: 6–15g decoction; antibacterial per modern studies.
