Coix seeds
This product is the seed kernel of Coix seeds of the genus Coix of the Poaceae family.

[Nature, flavor and function]
Sweet, light, slightly cold. Enters the spleen, stomach, lung, kidney and large intestine meridians. Strengthens the spleen and eliminates dampness, clears heat and discharges pus.
[Chemical composition]
Coix seeds contain 16.2% protein, 4.65% fat, 79.17% carbohydrates, and a small amount of vitamin B. The seeds contain amino acids (leucine, lysine, arginine, tyrosine, etc.), coix lactones (coixin), coix esters and triterpenoid compounds.
【Anti-cancer mechanism】
Some extracts of coix seed have a certain inhibitory effect on experimental animal Ehrlich ascites cancer, sarcoma S180, Yoshida sarcoma, cervical cancer 14, etc., and can significantly prolong the survival time of animals. Two parts that have an inhibitory effect on mouse Ehrlich ascites cancer cells were separated from coix seed alcohol extract, one of which can cause cancer cell protoplasmic degeneration, and the other can stop the nuclear division of cells in the middle stage. Coix seed acetone extract also has an inhibitory effect on mouse Ehrlich ascites. Daily intraperitoneal injection of 10.3 mg per mouse for 7 days can keep the animals alive. Coix seed acetone extract also has a significant inhibitory effect on mouse cervical tumor (V₁₄) and HAC solid tumors. Coix ester isolated from coix seed acetone extract has an inhibitory effect on Ehrlich ascites sarcoma.
【Recipe】
1. Barley and lotus seed porridge: 100g barley, 100g polished rice, 20-30 lotus seeds, a little rock sugar or white sugar. Soak the lotus seeds, peel and core them, cook them with barley and polished rice into porridge, add rock sugar or white sugar. Eat it in the morning and evening. It is suitable for all cancer patients with weak constitution, especially for lung cancer, stomach cancer, cervical cancer, etc.
2. Pork lung and barley porridge: 100g pig lung, 50g barley, 100g polished rice. Wash the pig lung, simmer the fish with water for 10 minutes, remove and cut into small pieces, wash the barley and polished rice, add water to cook porridge, add the porridge after boiling, simmer on low heat until cooked, and add a small amount of salt. It is used for lung cancer patients with fever, qi deficiency, cough and bloody sputum.
3. Barley and Luo Han Guo Congee: Wash an appropriate amount of barley, fry it on low heat until thick, add 2 Luo Han Guo and cook for 1 hour.
4. Lotus seed and coix seed stewed with pork bladder: 1 pork bladder, 60 grams of lean pork, 36 grams of lotus seeds, 6 grams of licorice, and 30 grams of coix seeds. Wash lotus seeds (without core) and coix seeds, and soak them in water for half an hour. Wash licorice. Wash the pork bladder with coarse salt, put it in boiling water and boil for 2 minutes, remove it and wash it with cold water, and cut it into pieces. Wash the lean pork and slice it. Put all the ingredients into the pot and add an appropriate amount of clean water. After boiling over high heat, simmer for 2 hours, season and serve. It is used for urinary system tumors such as bladder cancer and kidney cancer, which are characterized by damp heat in the lower part of the body, frequent urination, painful urination, and red and turbid urine.
