🛍 Product Information :
Banana Flower (commonly known as Banana Blossom or Banana Heart in English, 香蕉花 or 蕉花 in Hong Kong and Guangdong), from the plant Musa acuminata (or related Musa species), is the large, teardrop-shaped flower bud that grows at the end of a banana bunch. It features layers of deep purple-red bracts enclosing small white or pale yellow florets. Native to tropical Asia, it is widely grown in southern China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and other tropical regions. While the plant is famous for its fruit, the flower bud itself is an edible vegetable and a nutritious by-product.
The edible parts are the inner florets and the tender core (heart) after peeling away the tough outer purple bracts. It has a crisp, slightly bitter taste when raw (bitterness reduces after proper preparation) and is rich in dietary fiber, plant protein, vitamins A, C, E, B-complex, potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium, and antioxidants like polyphenols and flavonoids.
In traditional Chinese medicine and folk use across Asia, banana flower is considered cooling and mildly sweet in nature. It is valued for clearing heat and toxins, calming the liver, cooling blood, promoting diuresis, supporting blood circulation, and supplementing potassium. It is popularly used to help with high blood pressure, constipation, digestive issues, summer heat discomfort, menstrual problems, skin health, stress relief, and blood sugar/lipid management. In Southeast Asian and some Cantonese cuisines, it is prepared in salads, stir-fries with meat, curries, soups, or porridge.

Precaution: Its cooling nature makes it less suitable in large amounts for those with weak digestion, cold constitution, or low blood pressure. Pregnant women should consume moderately. Proper preparation is essential: peel off outer bracts, remove bitter sap between layers (soak in salted or lemon water to prevent oxidation and reduce bitterness), and cook thoroughly. The flower
