Wing Hing Wai Organic Farm

Yongqingwei Organic Farm, formerly LeungChuk Farm, was once a famous local vegetable production farm in Kamtin. It produces more than 100 kilograms of vegetables every day and covers an area of 20 Acres. More than ten years ago, the owner of the farm was old and retired, and patches of farmland were overgrown with weeds and became deserted。
Yongqingwei farmer Mr. Feng and his wife took over. In order to revitalize this piece of farmland, use organically grown fertilizers and healthy farming methods to turn the deserted land into an organic farm. Mr. Feng and his wife have reached the retirement age in recent years, and their physical fitness is not as good as before. In addition to the farmers’ hard work, the harvest of agricultural products depends on climate change. There is a lot of rain in summer and it is difficult to have a good harvest. It will be better in winter, that is to say. In a year, only half a year has a harvest. However, their sons and daughters have indicated that they will not take over, and various factors have made it difficult for the farm to operate, and the future is unknown. However, Mr. Feng and his wife were optimistic and said they would cultivate with their hearts, and they could do it day by day. They would not give up organic farming. They hope that more people can eat organic vegetables and have a healthy life. Yongqingwei Organic Farm, in line with the mission of changing the original conventionally cultivated farmland into organically planted farmland, aims to cultivate and revitalize the old daily-used conventional farmland, and to grow fresh and healthy food with conscience. In April 2015, Wing Hing Wai Organic Farm applied to the Fisheries Conservation Department to join the Organic Farming Support Team. The soil and water quality were certified to meet the requirements for organic certification. It is now applying for organic certification.
