Purple garlic, also known as hardneck garlic, is a variety distinguished by its vibrant purple-striped skin. While the inner cloves themselves are typically the same color as white garlic, the papery outer skin is where the color variation is most noticeable. This garlic type is known for its unique flavor profile, often described as sweeter, milder, and more aromatic than its white counterpart. 

Native to Central Asia, Garlic has been used as seasoning all over the world for thousands of years. A close relative of onions, shallots and leek, White Garlic has approximately 7 to 12 cloves wrapped around a hard, central stalk. Garlic can be used whole, chopped, crushed, or minced.
