place of origin
Sea grapes are native to Japan and are called umi-budo (海ぶどう) (Umi: Ocean, Budo: Grape). It is an edible algae of the genus Pteris, also known as sea grape or green roe, which is farmed in Mactan Island, Philippines and Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. At present, Okinawa, Japan and Penghu, Donggang, Taitung and other places in Taiwan can be cultivated artificially.
It is also found in the clean ocean in Nha Trang, Vietnam. It is planted and supplied to the whole world, and exported to the United States, Canada and Australia. Hong Kong is the first time.
Recent studies have shown that free radicals are one of the causes of aging and many chronic diseases. Seaweed is rich in carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, vitamins, minerals and special nutrients, which can improve body functions; its seaweed polysaccharide extract has anti-oxidation, anti-coagulation, and immune-regulating effects. The experimental results of the Fisheries Research Institute of the Agricultural Committee of the Executive Yuan of Taiwan show that the extract of Botrytis elongatus has a very good scavenging rate for free radicals such as DPPH and ABTS+. Seaweeds are mostly rich in lipopolysaccharides. As lipopolysaccharides are mostly derived from bacteria in the soil, root vegetables are rich in vegetables, including lotus root, radish, and burdock. However, sea grapes are particularly rich (Japanese Medicine - Japanese Dementia Physician, Doctor of Medicine Shirasawa Takuji: lipopolysaccharide improves immunity, anti-aging and anti-dementia)*.
Dehydrated Sea Grapes

3. Helps Prevent High Blood Pressure and Diabetes
4. Helps prevent constipation

8. Anti-cancer power (Fucoidan)
In addition, it contains Fucoidan, which is a heteropolymer polysaccharide composed of "fucose sulfate", with an average molecular weight of about 30,000 Daltons. It mainly exists in brown algae and is also one of the physiologically active substances unique to brown algae. In recent years, studies have found that fucoidan, a special ingredient in brown algae, has the effect of preventing and improving many diseases, whether in cell or animal experiments.
Polysaccharides from sea grapes have a better effect than fucoidan. In the future, oligosaccharides extracted from sea grapes can be used as an agent to prevent breast cancer, and sulfated polysaccharides can be used in patients with weak immune systems or as dietary supplements.
