🌱 Supplier introduction:
The story of our original intention started from the poisonous vegetable incident many years ago!
The farm hopes to promote organic farming and green living, and we believe that "if there is a tomorrow, it must be green!" Through the Green Living Expert, our team will teach the methods of organic planting and reproduction, and encourage them to practice green life, combine online and offline courses, and bring planting culture into every family, thereby influencing the next generation to build a greener earth.
The purpose of the planting ~ It can be seen and healed, and at the same time, it can consume food waste, reduce pollution to the earth, and eat the freshest fruits and vegetables.
Herbal Series:
☘️ Edible flowers: fresh in boxes, potted plants, scented tea, edible dried flowers
☘️ Herbs series: either dried, boxed fresh, potted
☘️ edible wild vegetables series (human/tortoise/parrot/lizard): boxed fresh, potted plants, re-used pots (再生盆)
Note:
As for the potted plants of ornamental flowers and edible flowers, most of them need the cooperation of temperature, sunlight and fertilizer. Most places in the city are not suitable for planting, unless there are rooftops and village houses with open sun. Not every family is suitable for planting. If you want to increase the survival rate, you can consider violets and orchids as ornamental flowers that are slightly suitable for urban planting.
150 Verbena
Red/Pink/Purple
Verbena (scientific name: Verbena venosa) is a popular flower plant, loved for its beautiful flowers and relatively easy cultivation methods. The following are the planting methods and precautions for Verbena:
Basic requirements
Soil: Verbena is not demanding on soil, and is suitable for loose, breathable and fertile soil. You can mix garden soil, leaf humus and river sand in a ratio of 1:1:1, or use general nutrient soil45.
Light: It likes plenty of sunlight, and should maintain good light throughout the year, especially in summer, and does not need shade47.
Temperature: The optimal growth temperature is 5 to 25℃, cold and heat resistant, but too high temperature (over 30℃) will affect growth12.
Planting method
Sowing:
Sowing in spring (April-June) or autumn (January-April), the suitable temperature for germination is 15-20℃.
Soak the seeds in water to remove inhibitors, then sow and cover with a thin layer of soil, keep moist, and germinate in about 15-20 days134.
When the main leaves grow to 6, the seedlings can be transplanted into pots2.
Cuttings:
Select healthy and disease-free stem nodes, cut about 10-13cm long cuttings (8-10cm in summer), and then bury shallowly in loose sandy soil134.
Keep the medium moist, and roots will grow into seedlings in about two weeks.
Care points
Fertilization: Apply liquid fertilizer every 7-10 days and slow-release solid fertilizer every 1-2 months. The application of phosphorus fertilizer should be increased during flowering to promote flowering14.
Pruning: Regularly prune dense branches to promote ventilation and light transmission. Heavy pruning should be done once a year after the peak flowering period to promote the growth of new branches13.
Pest and disease control: Pay attention to pests and diseases, such as leaf miners and powdery mildew, and deal with them in time to prevent them from affecting growth12.
With these methods and precautions, even a novice can successfully grow beautiful petunias.
