🛍 Product Information (Main) (English):
The European cucumber (also known as English cucumber) is a variety of "seedless" cucumber that is longer and slimmer than other varieties.
It does not have a layer of wax on it, and the skin is tender when ripe.
These cucumbers may come wrapped in plastic for longer shelf life and better freshness. As a seedless variety, they do not have to be seeded or peeled before consuming.
Often used in salads and for pickling, European cucumbers can be more expensive and less flavorful than some other types of cucumber.
Cucumber is part of the gourd family and originally from South Asia but grows now on most continents. Cucumber consists of 95% water and, like tomato and squash, it is often perceived, prepared and eaten as a vegetable while it is actually a fruit! Belonging to the Cucurbitaceae plant, this long cucumber is roughly cylindrical and elongated with tapered ends. The ascorbic and caffeic acids contained in cucumbers lower the water retention rate, shrinking the swelling and puffiness of your eyes.
