How to grow cherry tomatoes?

In Hong Kong, except for March to July, the other seasons are suitable for planting cherry eggplants. Under the conditions of the climate, choose a sunny location. Then began the preparatory work of preparing for sowing, welcoming the 90-day sowing to harvest period.

The equipment needed for planting cherry tomato includes: flower pot, culture soil, fertilizer and bamboo branch (used as a fixed backbone). When buying seeds, pay attention to the expiry date on the packaging, which is one of the key elements for the success of planting cherry tomatoes!

After sowing, cover the seeds with three millimeters of culture soil and keep them moist. They will germinate about ten to fourteen days later. When the cherry blossoms grow to 5 cm, transplant them into larger pots. After about a month, remove the first flower and side buds by hand to allow the main stem to get enough nutrients.

Unforgettable nursing work

As the cherry eggplant grows, side buds will continue to grow between the main stem and the leaves. At that time, it needs to be removed immediately, which will help the fruit grow bigger. When the cherry tomato grows to a certain height, the trunk needs to be fixed with bamboo branches.

About two months later, when the cherry blossoms have grown and bloomed, cut off the front end of one-third of the overall length. The fruit that is close to the main stem can easily get nourishment and grow bigger. During the growth of cherry tomatoes, the roots may be exposed to the soil, and then soil mulch needs to be added.

Cherry tomatoes need to be topdressed-fruits and root vegetables must be topdressed when they bloom and bear fruit. Liquid fertilizers have immediate effect and are applied approximately once a week; while solid fertilizers are slow-acting and apply approximately once a month. You can choose one of the two according to your personal preference.
