🌱 Supplier introduction:
Pang Zhongheng (Jack), the third generation descendant of Yuet Wo Sauce Garden, recalled his grandfather’s story. In the 1930s, he fled to Hong Kong with his brewing sauce technology and took root in Tsuen Wan. With the rise of the catering industry, Yuet Wo also began to supply restaurants in Tsuen Wan area, so he set up a factory on Texaco Road in Tsuen Wan, mainly serving the neighbors in the area. Yuet Wo moved the soy sauce garden to the ancient cave in 1971. Since the ancient cave is flat and vast with no barriers on all sides, the sunshine hours are very abundant, which is very suitable for the production of soy sauce. There are still four time-honored soy sauce gardens located here. Yuet Wo has been using non-genetically modified Canadian soybeans since then, and brews soy sauce using traditional methods. The natural sun-dried soy sauce has a delicious flavor that cannot be replaced by chemically synthesized soy sauce. It has always been dedicated to serving Hong Kong. customers, Yue Wo is the only soy sauce garden in Hong Kong that uses its own rice wine to ferment into vinegar. The Tsuen Wan Market Street store is currently the only directly-operated store, and its signature product is 100% Hong Kong’s signature sweet vinegar.
Now the third generation of the family has further transformed the soy sauce garden and developed organic and gluten-free soy sauce.
