In China, osmanthus is combined with black or green tea leaves. In Liuzhou, it is used to flavor locally brewed beer.

Osmanthus wine is made by dipping the whole osmanthus flower in rice wine or other types of rice wine and is drunk during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Osmanthus Health Method

1. Osmanthus Drink / Osmanthus Wolfberry Red Date Tea

Raw materials:
Osmanthus, yellow rock sugar (you can add wolfberries and red dates as you like)

Steps:
1. Put the osmanthus in a pot and soak it in clean drinking water for an hour.
2. Take it out and rinse it with mineral water several times, then let it dry.
3. Put the dried sweet-scented osmanthus into the bottle and add yellow rock sugar.
4. Put it in the refrigerator and wait for more than a week to eat it. It can be used for soaking in water, making pastries and so on.

2. Osmanthus water chestnut cake

Raw materials:
1500g water chestnut, 50g sweet-scented osmanthus, 200g white sugar

Steps:
1. Take out the fresh horseshoe, grind it into powder with a stone mill, press the stone to remove the water, dry it and then dry it to form a hard block, and then crush it to make horseshoe powder.
2. Put the horseshoe powder into the basin and dilute it with an appropriate amount of water to form a slurry.
3. Add in the sugar and mix into a semi-paste.
4. Pour the reconciled slurry into the iron plate, then add the water chestnut and sweet-scented osmanthus, stir well, put it on the basket and steam until cooked.

3. Osmanthus lotus root slices

The frost has arrived, the temperature has dropped, the sweet-scented osmanthus is blooming, and the lotus root is fat and tender. A sweet and sour cold dish is made with lotus root slices and sweet-scented osmanthus, which is crisp, delicious, fragrant and beautiful!

Material:
1 lotus root, 1 tsp sugar osmanthus, 1/3 tsp salt, 1 tsp apple cider vinegar, 1 parsley, some olive oil

Steps:
1. Peel the lotus root and cut off both ends.
2. Use a carving knife to cut out the lines.
3. Cut the lotus root into thin slices.
4, parsley cut into the end.
5. Boil the water in the pot, add the lotus root slices and cook.
6. Take out the lotus root slices, put them in cold boiled water to cool, and drain the water.
7. Add 1/3 teaspoon salt and mix well.
8. Pour in 1 tablespoon of sugar osmanthus.
9. Add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.
10. After serving, sprinkle with minced parsley and drizzle some olive oil.
