Product Description:What is organic food? Organic food generally refers to food that uses organic methods during production, handling, processing and sale, such as the absence of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, antibiotics, growth promoters, food additives from non-organic sources, and Genetic modification and irradiation (a type of radiation used to kill bacteria). In addition to vegetables, fruits, rice and other crops, common organic foods also include cheese, honey and processed products such as bread, corn flakes, and cereals.

Benefits of organic vegetables

Why choose organic vegetables? First of all, organic vegetables are safer and healthier for the human body. In terms of farming, organic vegetables must meet organic production standards and be certified by a third-party certification agency to ensure that no chemical pesticides or fertilizers are used in the production process. Strict organic production supervision can protect consumers from ingesting residual pesticides or chemicals. .

In addition, organic farming helps maintain a balanced production system. This is because organic farming does not use synthetic chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Farmers tend to choose crop rotation, animal and plant composting, etc. to avoid pests, thereby avoiding soil contamination and maintaining the vitality of the soil to achieve a sustainable ecosystem.

Boiling will destroy water-soluble vitamins such as vitamin C

Judging from the criteria of whether leafy vegetables are cooked and edible, first of all, taking the boiling method which is most commonly believed by the public to retain more nutrients, what is destroyed during the boiling process is ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Since vitamins are water-soluble, when leafy vegetables are surrounded by a large amount of water and heated, they will naturally be destroyed with the cooking time and temperature.

Steaming is considered to be the best way to preserve the nutrients of leafy vegetables.

The final step is steaming, which wins the championship among the four methods of preserving nutrients. In the study, it was found that after cooking, the biological activity content and antioxidant activity of leafy vegetables will increase, so it is considered to be the best choice for cooking leafy vegetables. The most suitable method.

Notes:Don’t wash organic vegetables?

Many people may think that there is no need to clean organic vegetables since there are no pesticide residues, but this is not the case. When preventing and controlling pests, vegetable farmers may use natural enemies of pests and diseases for control, and crops may harbor organisms, such as larvae. Therefore, before eating any vegetables, they should be washed and cooked with water to ensure safety and safe consumption.
