Health
Many scientists claim that dates can prevent high blood pressure and heart disease because they contain high amounts of magnesium and potassium.
Balance and fiber
With around 7g of fibre per 100g, dates are high in fibre which can make you feel full, while the glucose content in dates can help curb sugar cravings. Their low glycemic index is also worth noting.
The sugar content of ripe Medjool Date is about 80%; the remainder consists of protein, fiber, and trace elements including boron, cobalt, copper, fluorine, magnesium, manganese, selenium, and zinc.Date palm (scientific name: Phoenix dactylifera), also known as date palm, Persian date, Iraqi candied date, etc., is a plant of the genus Eryngium of the palm family. It is commonly planted in Hong Kong for parks or courtyards, hedges, viewing plants and buried road trees. Date palm trees are drought-tolerant, alkali-resistant, heat-resistant, and they like moisture.
The age of the tree can reach a hundred years. With high fruit yield, it is an important export crop for some countries in the Middle East. The date palm tree has an important position in Arabian mythology, and above the national emblem of Saudi Arabia is the date palm tree. As an exotic plant, it is also very popular with the Greeks. It is often decorated with its branches and leaves around the temple. In addition, the date palm has high nutritional value and is also called desert bread.
The Iraqi people call the date palm green gold. Due to its rich sugar and protein content, and its small size, date palms are easy to carry and store, they have become an important alternative food for people in desert areas. Date palm provides a variety of essential nutrients and is a good source of potassium in the diet. The sugar content of mature dates is about 80%; the rest is composed of protein, fiber and trace elements, including boron, cobalt, copper, fluorine, magnesium, manganese, selenium and zinc. In the use of dates in the medical field, dates contain high tannins. They are used in medicine to cleanse the stomach (with cleansing power) and an astringent to solve intestinal problems. Jujube is useful for increasing the fertility of men and women because it contains the hormones botulinum and oxytocin.

Size
When it comes to Mejhoul dates, there are various sizes available, ranging from small (less than 14 g) to jumbo or super jumbo (more than 27 g). Whatever size you choose, you will always enjoy same mouthwatering flavor.

Skin
Did you know that the skin of the Mejhoul date tends to naturally detach when it's fully ripe on the tree? So, if you see some degree of skin detachment, there’s no need to worry: it doesn't affect the fruit’s quality or freshness. It's just an aesthetic characteristic to be appreciated.

Texture
Experience the satisfaction of sinking your fingers into a perfectly ripened Mejhoul date. A gentle squeeze should easily open up the fruit to reveal its luscious and shiny flesh. Any resistance may indicate a drier fruit with fibrous flesh that takes longer to savor.
Cooking method:
Dry or soft dates are eaten out-of-hand, or may be pitted and stuffed with fillings such as almonds, walnuts, pecans, candied orange and lemon peel, tahini, marzipan or cream cheese. Pitted dates are also referred to as stoned dates.
Serve as a snack or make them the star of any dish. You can also chop and mash dates as a dressing for sweet dishes or as a condiment.
Special matters: In Islamic culture, dates and yogurt or milk are traditionally the first food eaten by Iftar after the end of Ramadan. So I occasionally see that the worker sister likes to eat dates.
Storage
-

Room Temperature
To preserve the moistness of your dates, we recommend that you store them in an airtight container. The longer you wait to enjoy them, the greater the risk of them losing their texture and flavor.
-

Refrigerator
Storing your dates in the refrigerator (for up to two months) is the best way to preserve their freshness and delicious flavor. This dry, cool environment will ensure that your dates stay moist and delicious until you're ready to enjoy them. So when the craving strikes, you’ll be sure to experience their softness and delightful aroma.
-

Freezer
Freezing your dates is an excellent way to preserve them for a longer period of time. Simply place them in an airtight container or plastic jar. (If using a freezer bag, make sure to press out any excess air.) Freezing will ensure that your dates remain fresh and tasty for quite some time.
