Born in a family of agriculture, I have followed my elders in farming since I was young, and I went out to earn a living to middle-aged. At that time, I discovered that a lot of pesticides on foreign crops were discovered. In view of this, I established my "Hong Kong Organic Fruits and Vegetables Farm" in 2006.
To be listed as "organic" is the industry of conscience. We have promised organic regulations for more than 13 years. The crops we produce make my family, friends and customers who buy my crops feel trust.
Now the farm has 18 acres of land, and organically grown crops are selected as the characteristics of the farm. Examples include: strawberry, Taiwan candied date, pineapple, fig, dragon fruit, passion fruit, guava, potato, purple yam, variegated carrot, Variegated cherry tomato, rice, corn, mushroom organic products and organic seasonal fruits and vegetables, etc.
🛍 Product Information :
Common Dishes: Green & Red Carrot Pork knee brother Soup, Corn Carrot Soup, Vegetarian Spring Rolls, Salads, etc.
Traditional Chinese medicine point of view: Carrots have the effects of invigorating the spleen, nourishing the liver and improving eyesight, resolving phlegm and relieving cough, and clearing away heat and toxins. Carrots are rich in minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron and phosphorus, as well as carotene that can be converted into vitamin A, which helps prevent night blindness. Lutein and zeatin help prevent retinopathy. Carrot has many health effects in Chinese medicine, so it is known as "little ginseng".
Note: If the carrots have been washed during the purchase, the leaves should be cut off first, because the leaves can accelerate the shrinkage of the roots. Before storing carrots, cut the head and tail to prevent it from sprouting, and the tail to prevent it from rooting. Because both will consume the nutrients and water of carrots. In winter, spray water on the surface of carrots, wrap the whole carrot with newspaper, and stand upright in a place with good air. In summer, spray water on the surface of carrots, wrap the whole carrot with newspaper, put it in a plastic bag, and store it upright in the refrigerator. Since the root skin of carrots is easy to damage, cut carrots should be used up within a week.
* Appropriate & Avoid
Appropriate: It has a nourishing effect for those who are weak after illness, and women who are pregnant or after delivery.
Avoid: Those who are weak in the spleen and stomach should not be eaten raw. Since squeezing vegetable juice will increase the concentration of sugar, people who are undergoing blood sugar control should be more careful when drinking carrot juice.
*Edible compatibility
Suitable: Taking astragalus, pork belly or yam at the same time can strengthen the effect of replenishing weakness and alleviating indigestion. Eating with pineapple can keep cerebral blood vessels unblocked and reduce the incidence of cerebral hemorrhage.
Xiangke: Eating with ginseng at the same time will cancel the effect of each other. Since carrots contain vitamin C decomposing enzymes, eating them raw with peppers, tomatoes or radishes will decompose vitamin C and destroy the nutritional value. It is not suitable to eat with alcohol, because the carotene in carrots and alcohol enter the human body together to produce toxins in the liver, which can easily cause liver disease.
Cooking skills
Carrots are widely used. Orientals use it to cook soup or squeeze juice, and Westerners use it to eat raw or cold. Since both carotene and vitamin A are fat-soluble, cooking with edible oil will be better than eating raw or squeezing juice. Since carotene and vitamin A will not be destroyed by high heat, the nutritional content of cooked carrots will not change significantly. Since the outer skin is rich in carotene, do not peel it too thickly when peeling it.
Remarks
Due to the high glycemic index of carrots, carrots are generally mistaken as unsuitable for diabetic patients. In fact, since most of the structure of carrots is water, a carrot has only about four grams of carbohydrates. Eating a lot of carrots will have the effect of a significant increase in blood sugar. Diabetics do not need to quit carrots. The recommended daily intake of vitamin A for adults is about 800 micrograms of retinol activity equivalent, which is equivalent to half a medium-sized carrot. Excessive consumption of carrots will lead to excessive intake of carotene. Changes in skin pigmentation may cause skin yellowing. As long as the food is stopped for a few weeks, the pigment will disappear on its own and will not have a long-term effect on the skin. Pregnant women should not consume excessive amounts of carrots, because too much vitamin A can cause abnormal death of spine cells and increase the risk of teratogenesis. Excessive intake of vitamin A for a long period of time may inhibit the ability to build bone, leading to osteoporosis and fractures.
