🛍 Product Information:
Binomial Name:Ecklonia kurome
Chinese Name:昆布
Other Names:Kombu | Kelp
Product Description:The kelp is the algae of the Pteranophyllaceae, which is dark brown and turns black after drying. It is cold in nature and salty in taste, and has the functions of softening firmness and dispelling knots, reducing swelling and diverting water, moisturizing and expectorating phlegm. Black kelp contains alginic acid, crude protein, mannitol, ash, potassium, and iodine, which can correct the symptoms of hypothyroidism caused by iodine deficiency.
Distributed in Liaodong Peninsula, Shandong Peninsula, and Zhejiang Yushan Islands, Fujian and Guangdong coast.
Variety:Generally, kelp is 30 to 100 cm high and is a perennial large brown algae, leathery. The fronds are flat and wide, slightly thicker in the middle, pinnately lobed from both sides, lobes are long tongue-shaped, slightly wrinkled, and the edges are generally coarsely serrated.
Supply Season:Hong Kong is supplied throughout the year. The growth period of growth is from June to September, and it is harvested in summer and autumn.
Storage Method:Usually sealed and stored in a cool, dry environment. If necessary, store it in the refrigerator for a longer period of time.

Therapeutic value: Kelp is rich in potassium, calcium and other minerals and dietary fiber
Suitable for patients with simple goiter. People with spleen and stomach deficiency should not eat this.
*Edible Compatibility:
It can be used with red dates, light blue, seaweed, etc.
Cooking Skills:Fresh kelp can be washed with clean water first, boiled in a pot, then taken out and soaked in cold water for later use. Dried kelp must be soaked in water until it returns to its original shape, then washed and put into the pot, and treated in the same way as fresh kelp.
Use a cloth to remove the dust on the surface of the kelp. The white powder is mannitol produced by the kelp and does not need to be removed. Cut into sections and soak in water for more than 20 minutes before use.
Notes:The difference between kombu and kelp: Although both belong to the order kelp, they are actually two different plants.
The kelp we usually say belongs to the order Laminaria, the family Laminaria, and the genus Laminaria. The leaves are single or deeply split into palms. Kelp is a genus of Kelpacea, a genus of Pterophyceae, with pinnate leaves.
Since kelp is collectively referred to as kelp in Japanese, and kelp in English can also refer to kelp and kelp at the same time, the two are often confused.
Dish:
It can be eaten in a variety of ways and can be used to make soup or various cold dishes.
Kelp mung bean syrup, Kelp, winter melon and barley soup, Kelp porridge, etc.; are also used in traditional Chinese medicine.
