🛍 Product Information:

Golden from Limousin (also known as Pomme du Limousin AOP or Limousin Golden Apple) is France's only apple with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO/AOP) status. It is the classic Golden Delicious variety, but when grown on the high plateaus of the Limousin region (altitude 300–500 m, known as the "land of a thousand springs"), the unique terroir — granite soils, cool nights, warm days, and natural humidity — elevates it to exceptional quality levels.

Introduced in the 1950s, this apple earned AOC status in 2005 and European AOP in 2007. The fruits are slightly elongated, with a minimum diameter of 65 mm, pale green to bright golden-yellow skin often featuring an attractive pink blush on the sun-exposed side. The flesh is pure white, exceptionally firm, crisp, intensely juicy, and never mealy, delivering a beautifully balanced sweet-tart flavor with subtle aromatic notes.

Thanks to strict AOP rules (certified trees, hand-picking, limited yields, eco-responsible practices, no post-harvest treatments), it offers outstanding storage life — available from November through July with consistent quality. It's fantastic eaten fresh for its refreshing crunch, and it excels in cooking: holding its shape perfectly in tarts (like Tarte Tatin), compotes, baked dishes, or even savory pairings with poultry, foie gras, or cheese.

Often called the "grand cru" among apples, the Golden from Limousin proves that terroir can transform even a familiar variety into something truly special — crisp, juicy, balanced, and utterly reliable!

Product Description:The proverb "An apple a day keeps the doctor away," about the fruit's purported health benefits, dates back to 19th-century Wales, where the original phrase was "Eat an apple before bed and you keep the doctor away."

Apples are eaten in a variety of ways: juiced, eaten raw in salads, baked in pies, cooked into sauces and spreads (such as applesauce), and in other baked dishes.

Apples are sometimes used as an ingredient in savory foods, such as sausages and stuffings.

Variety:There are more than 7,500 known apple varieties (cultivation varieties). The popular apple varieties are soft but crispy. Other ideal qualities in modern commercial apple breeding are bright skin, rustless, easy to transport, long -term storage capacity, high yield, disease resistance, common apple shape and developed flavor. Modern apples are usually sweeter than old varieties, because Apple's popular taste changes over time. Most North America and Europeans like sweet, slightly sour apples, but there are also a few people like sour apples. Apple, which is extremely sweet and almost without any sour taste, is very popular in Asia, especially the Indian subcontinent.

Old varieties are usually weird, yellow -brown, and grow various textures and colors. Some people find that they have a better flavor than modern varieties.

Organic production
Organic apples are usually produced in the United States. [78] Due to the invasion of major insects and diseases, European organic production is difficult.

Supply Season:From October to December

Storage Method:It can be stored for about 10 days at room temperature or refrigerated.

For household storage, most apple varieties can be stored in the coldest place in the refrigerator (that is, less than 5 ° C) for about 2-4 weeks. Some can be preserved for up to a year without obvious degradation. Some apple varieties (such as "Australian Green Apple" and "Fuji") storage life is more than three times that of other varieties. Like other fruits, ethylene gas will accelerate maturity and deterioration, and reduce the hardness of apples.

Non -organic apples can spray methamphetamine acrylic, which can block the apple's ethylene receptor and temporarily prevent it from maturing.

Some ancient varieties are still producing large -scale, but many varieties have been preserved by family gardens and farmers and sold directly to the local market. There are many unusual and important varieties, with their own unique taste and appearance; the Apple Protection Movement has emerged around the world to protect such local varieties from extinction. In the UK, although they are low and are affected by diseases according to modern standards, they still have important business value.
