Product Description:Bamboo fungus, also known as long skirt bamboo fungus, bamboo fungus, veil fungus, mesh fungus, fairy hat, stink fungus and other names, the whole plant is about 15 to 20 cm tall, the head is dark green, and there is a mesh curtain below. , covering the entire stipe, the mushroom curtain is slender and delicate, very beautiful. Dictyophora belongs to the kingdom Fungi, the phylum Basidiomycota, the class Gastromycota, the family Phalloidaceae, and the genus Dictyophora. It is distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan and other southern and southwestern provinces of China. It is also found in the United States, Africa, Australia, Asia, and Japan. Records, but only China has the habit of eating this fungus.
The larvae of Dictyophora fungi are ovoid, 3 to 4 cm in diameter, white to light brown, and coated. When mature, the coat splits, the stipe is elongated and exposed, and the coat is left behind to form the scepter. The cap is bell-shaped, 2-4 cm high, with a flat and perforated top. There are obvious reticulate patterns on the surface and secretes dark green mucus. There is a drooping white mushroom curtain around it, about 10 centimeters or more in length, with polygonal meshes on it. The stipe is 2 to 3 cm thick, white and hollow, tapering upward, and the wall is spongy. Spores elliptical, smooth, 4-4.5 x 1.5-3 μm.
Dictyophora likes to grow in bamboo forests, but it can also be found in leaf litter in broad-leaved woodlands. The growth of the fruiting body is very fast. In the early morning, the stipe first emerges from the soil, gradually elongates and slowly opens the mushroom curtain. At around noon, it matures and releases a foul smell. Then it falls, rots and disappears. It only has a life of about one day. The top of the Dictyophora fungus is where the spores are produced. The putrid smell it emits attracts insects from far away to fly in and bite them. When the insects stop, the spores attach to the feet or wings of the insects, allowing the insects to fly with them. To achieve the purpose of spreading spores, this is an example of cooperation between insects and fungi in nature.
The earliest written record of Bamboo fungus is in "Youyang Zazu" written by Duan Chengshi of the Tang Dynasty: "Lin Tu Yizhi is eight inches long, with a solid head like a chicken head, black, its handle is like a lotus root handle, and it is hollow inside. , the cortex is all white, and the roots are reddish.” Records of cooking can be found as early as the fifth year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1866 AD) in the kitchen manuscript "Feast Feng Delicacies According to Samples, Dingxinlu", with dish names such as "Duck with Bamboo Ginseng", "Cold Bamboo Pine", and "Stuffed Bamboo Ginseng" .
For general consumption, only the stem and mushroom curtain parts are eaten. The head and mushroom holder are inedible. Pick them off when the mushroom curtain is stretched and dry them in the sun for storage. Dictyophora fungus is also an extremely nutritious health food. Its mushroom body is rich in 19 kinds of amino acids, multiple vitamins and trace elements. Folk prescriptions have a nourishing effect and improve the body's disease resistance. Before the success of artificial cultivation, wild Dictyophora was rare and precious. After about 1980, China developed artificial cultivation technology. Now it can be mass-produced, so the Dictyophora sold in the market is quite cheap.
