The Angeleno Plum is a late-season Japanese plum variety originating from the USA, developed by Sun World International and released in 1995, widely cultivated in Italy and other Mediterranean regions. Organic Angeleno Plums are grown without synthetic pesticides, featuring large, round to oval fruits with a dark red to almost black skin, speckled appearance, and pale yellow, dense, crunchy flesh that's sweet with balanced flavor and low acidity. The small pit detaches easily from the flesh. Harvested around September, it has excellent cold storage potential, allowing marketing into winter, and is ideal for fresh eating, fruit salads, juices, or jams. Italian organic orchards, especially in Sicily, produce this rustic, frost-tolerant variety suited to ventilated, fertile soils.
