Internal alchemy of "Nature" & "Life", a Taoist term for inner alchemy, is a series of esoteric teachings and physical, mental and spiritual practices used to prolong life and create an immortal spirit body that survives death. It is divided into two types, Xing Gong and Destiny Gong, which refers to "cultivating both spirit and form" and comprehensively practicing the mind and body. It is now generally regarded as a type of qigong (the Taoists often call it "qi practice"). Refers to the theory of "the unity of nature and man" and "correspondence between nature and man" that "the human body is a small world", to carry out the cultivation of life, to use the human body as the cauldron, to cultivate "essence, qi, spirit" and so on to achieve physical fitness , The purpose of improving the life function of the human body and prolonging the lifespan.
The concepts of consciousness and unconsciousness in Western psychology can explain the categories of consciousness and primordial spirit in Inner Alchemy. "nature" refers to consciousness and unconsciousness, while "life" is related to physiological instincts. Carl Jung's Analytical Psychology understands the work of Inner Alchemy, "The Secret of the Golden Flower", in dismantling the opposition between the conscious and the unconscious.
